Icon Varnish – Hand-made (beeswax, turpentine oil, and resin).

A hand-made, natural varnish designed to protect and finish icons, made with beeswax, turpentine oil, and resin. It is created with attention to the traditional recipe and quality of ingredients. It creates a durable protective layer, emphasizing the depth and intensity of colors while preserving the natural character of the painting.

The product dries quickly and can be used immediately after painting, without the need for a long wait for the work to fully cure. Depending on the finishing method, it allows for various surface effects – after application, it creates a slightly matte appearance, and after warming with warm air, it becomes satin, subtly bringing out the light and depth of colors.

How to use:

Apply a thin, even layer to the icon's surface (1-2 coats, preferably with a flat nylon brush). To achieve a satin finish, gently warm the surface with warm air.

Note:

Not recommended for use on gilded surfaces – the varnish can create a matte coating that reduces the natural brilliance of the gold.

If too thick a layer is applied, gently warm the surface with warm air and spread the excess varnish.
